My Current Pull List:
Angel
Doctor Who
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Lenore
The Twelve
The Unwritten
Angel continues to keep things interesting. The art and writers have bounced around enough to lose any unifying tone, but then the damn guys refuse to genuinely arc a story anyway, so they don't have a thread to lose. Still every issue brings a new tidbit, and at least a couple of smirks. Lately, with the switch from 'Fall' to 'Aftermath' they've wandered off into, uh, more random than the random, but I'm willing to frown at a few more issues before deciding if that was a ridiculous groaning mistake.
I must add also that the various Angel miniseries they've tossed out on the side have never been leftovers. They manage to add to the depth of the universe, yet hold on their own merits. My Pull of Angel everything is worth it, even when I feel like I must storm IDW when my lcb has issues missing. Ugh.

Doctor Who is a new addition. The first issue made me blurg, but part of that was the whole Archie Maplin massive clustercrap, so it's hard to call a fair fight. I love Ten so very very much, I felt compelled to hang on for a couple of issues, just in case. But then maybe David Tennant IS Ten, totally, and it's hopeless...

I've just added Androids to my Pull. I'm nervous, because Dick doesn't do it for me. I want to like him, some of his ideas are awesome. But the drug thing, the obsessive thing that clung to his mind as hard as the invisible rays he believed were attacking him, completely repulses me. And ick, it's such a sad creepy thing to be worshiped for. Still, the story itself intrigues me. But it's 24 issues, whoa...so we'll see if I can handle that much pointless chemical abuse and Mercerism, just to feed my storybeast...

Lenore is also new to my Pull. Come on. It had me at 'undead'. But lo, it takes more than that to keep me. The mix of grim and sweet and lore riffing and just plain weird is twisted into such crunchy and funny goodness. And the art is gorgeous, all kooky beautiful. I want to cuddle the cute little dead girl. For reals.
*
The Twelve hasn't appeared in months and months, since the twits doing it decided to bugger off and take other jobs instead. Please explain that to me. HOW do you do a limited serial and not have right in the contract must do this work before flipping off for other pastures in-frickin-definitely? Actually, kill that, I want laws written that say a limited series has to be DONE before they start printing it. Or have the honesty to brand 'WILL NEVER FINISH' on the cover...Even without it written in blood, I can't understand people who don't have ethics and professionalism etched on their damn *soul*. Dumping.
*
The Unwritten annoyed me by doing Harry Potter. But then they won me back by doing it *badly*, so deliciously badly. And I'm still enchanted with the premise, that the poor guy is a hero his writer dad literally made, and yet he doesn't know that the stories we tell are real. It's early, but we'll see what they can do with a whack of potential.
